Franky Zapata paid tribute to the French pioneer Louis Blériot, who was the first man to cross the Channel by air. During his first attempt, Mr. Zapata fell into the water on July 24, 2019. A week later, on August 4, the inventor finally managed to cross the English Channel on his Flyboard® Air flying machine.
